Rhapis multifida hails from southern China, and is of special interest to palm collectors. It can be considered a more miniature version of Rhapis humilis, displaying slender, pointed leaflets. Over time, the suckering nature of this palm and its tendency to grow dense clusters up to 3 m wide, sets it apart from other Rhapis varieties with its distinctively bare stem.
