Calathea lancifolia is a stunning indoor plant. Its tall, lance-shaped leaves have long, wavy edges and develop in clumps before gently dispersing over time. On a background of light green, the leaves are varied with dark green striations. The undersides are silky to the touch and burgundy in color. Calathea insignis is another name for the rattlesnake plant.
Sunlight: Indirect sunlight or bright shade. Direct sunlight will cause the leaves to fade and lose their markings.
Water: Water regularly to keep the soil well-drained and moist, allowing soil to dry slightly between watering intervals. Calathea must be kept in damp soil at all times, but definitely do not allow the plant to sit in water or in very wet soil. Think 'little and often' as a watering policy.
Fertiliser: Keep the plant in top form by feeding the plants with a dilute solution of liquid fertiliser once every two weeks
