Cocopeat is a multipurpose growing medium made out of coconut husk. It is a very good alternative to traditional peat moss. Its air-filled porosity and high water holding capacity makes it ideal as a base for potting mixes.
- High water retention (sustain release of water and nutrients)
- Lightweight (easy to move the pots)
- Suitable for most plants and herbs
Do not use cocopeat by itself as potting medium, as the water retention properties might drown off plant roots.
